Welcome to the Website for St. Peters Methodist Church.
Our Harvest Service will be on Sunday 4th October at 10:30
This family friendly service will include Lesson Readings from members of the Scout Group.
We are supporting the “All we Can” Ethiopia appeal. Harvest gifts are warmly received and for Women’s refuge and Catching lives.
As you will see, we are a lively and welcoming Christian community right in the heart of the City of Canterbury. Although Canterbury is mainly known for its Cathedral, Methodism has also played an important part in the City since the 18th Century. Although we are a Church that very much looks to present and the future, we are also proud of our Methodist heritage.
We believe our mission is to share the good news of Jesus Christ though word and deed. Our church fellowship is made up of many different age groups and backgrounds that reflect the community we serve. We have a wide range of fellowship and study groups, and the church buildings are also used for many community activities.
With three universities in the city along with other colleges of further education, Canterbury is home to a large student population in term time.
St. Peters has links with the Universities through their Chaplaincy Teams and our full time Student Chaplain. Find out more about our student group on
Being a city-centre church, St. Peters is the largest church in the Canterbury and East Kent Methodist Circuit. We also have two Methodist Primary Schools in our Circuit together with strong links with Kent College, the Methodist Independent Boarding School on the outskirts of Canterbury.
When you are in Canterbury please come and join in our Sunday worship and experience for yourself the warmth of our welcome. For more information about our activities, please do not hesitate to contact me. There is also a map showing where St. Peter's is located in Canterbury.
